New times, new solutions

As we are all acutely aware, the novel coronavirus outbreak has utterly modified the world as we knew it. Culture, economy, tourism - all vital spheres of social life seem to be affected. Witnessing rapid and thorough changes, we decided to adjust the outlines of our projects to adapt to these challenging times.

Most world leaders agree that paying more attention to the ecosystem and environment protection is crucial for modern societies. Social distancing drew people’s attention back to nature and its soothing, stress-relieving qualities. But the environment must be preserved and cherished. Under the pandemic crisis, sustainability becomes more critical than ever.

Our commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles led us to create Eco Estrela, an emerging travel destination rich in natural capital. Carefully designed, the resort will blend smoothly into the local architecture, culture, and nature. After completion, the project will offer many valuable job positions and stimulate the neighboring area’s economy. Additionally, as part of our vision of the responsible business, we take actions that impact the community, such as the project “Clean up the world” and the annual FINC film festival.

As part of the global community, we recognize that we are all responsible for each other’s health, well-being, and our planet. We chose to partner with Six Senses as the most suitable operator in the hospitality business. Sustainability and environmental responsibility have always been fundamental for Six Senses. Their resorts, located in the most beautiful habitats on Earth, are energy efficient and free of waste, toxins, and plastic.

Although the pandemic is not over yet, we can estimate in what direction the post-COVID world will go. People will want to lead a more balanced lifestyle, focusing on their physical and emotional health. That is why we consider well-being programs the core of our concept. In Eco Estrela, Six Senses wellness experts will measure guests’ inner health, movement, and sleep patterns using the latest smart technology and ensure that everyone gets the program personally designed according to one’s specific needs.

Speaking of the post-COVID reality, we note that most countries are gaining control over the pandemic spread. Travel limitations are getting reduced all over the world. The tourist industry is rising back. Many Six Senses resorts are reopening, with new, appropriate protective measures implemented to ensure guests’ safety: more frequent sanitization of high-touch surfaces, strict delivery measures, additional cleaning processes for daily housekeeping service during guests’ stay and after departure, improved protocols around handling guest items and laundry. More attention is given to sanitizing Spas and Fitness Centers. Con Dao, Ninh Van Bay, Uluwatu, Douro Valley, Quing Cheng Mountain, Samui, Kaplankaya, Zil Pasyon, Laamu - all these beautiful resorts are operational. Tomorrow has already begun.
